Life Groups are one of the best ways within the church body to deepen our connection with Jesus and with one another. A Life Group is a small gathering of people who meet on a regular weekly basis to pray together, encourage each other and fellowship. We pray for one another's needs and ask the Lord to pour Himself out on the people in our lives, in our community.

Your Life Group becomes a close-knit, Christ-centered family ready and willing to be there for you in times of physical, financial or emotional hardship, as well as providing extra hands with moving, renovating or celebrating. Meetings are friendly, informal and generally a lot of fun. Most groups meet on Tuesday evenings.

Church membership is not a requirement for participation. Everyone is welcome, but we strongly encourage anyone who regularly attends Christ Community Church to join a Life Group. We have groups in various locations and age ranges.

Here are some 'thumbnail' descriptions of our current groups:

LIFE GROUP LEADER(S): Kevin and Marne Johnson

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are a small, small group, with a few young married couples and a few young bachelors. We are very laid back and would love to welcome new people.

LOCATION: Brockport

SEMESTER OFFERING: Bring your Bible for our Bible study on the Book of Acts

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are a mix of older and newer believers, all hard working folks who enjoy getting together to snack, fellowship, worship and discuss. It’s lively, a social bunch who truly enjoy each others’ company. We’ve all gained good and lasting friendships through our group.

LOCATION: Youth Room at Christ Community Church

SEMESTER OFFERING: The group is focusing on the pastor’s sermons from the previous Sunday, as well as spending some time in worship and fellowshipping over snacks.

LIFE GROUP LEADER(S): AMPED College (BASIC/IV) Life Groups

GROUP DESCRIPTION: Are you a college student between the ages of 17-25? Our life groups are like a movie, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you may even scream from time to time and you must turn off your cell phone. Guys and gals meet separately.

LOCATION: On the Brockport Campus

SEMESTER OFFERING: All groups focus on Relationships but the approach and discussion varies from group to group.

LIFE GROUP LEADER(S): Glenn and Susan Kaiser

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are a large and diverse group of people ranging in ages from late 20’s to late 50’s. We enjoy sharing meals and yummy desserts (we have the best bakers) and encouraging personal growth in Christ, no matter what your stage in life is.

SEMESTER OFFERING: Ladies are participating in a Bible study on the Book of Hebrews, and the guys are working through the book “The Prodigal God” by Timothy Keller. Additional activities include a monthly dinner, concentrated prayer time and sharing in the gifts of healing and prophecy. An outreach to a local nursing home is also planned. At the end of semester a group picnic is planned.

LIFE GROUP LEADER(S): Mark and Michele Rennie

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are a mixed group of singles, married and those with children, our home is open to all. Enjoy the laughter and the freshly brewed coffee with a weekly sweet.

SEMESTER OFFERING: The ladies are studying the Book of Romans, and the guys are doing a variety of activities together with several topical discussions.

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are made up of 40+ year old men and women, most have children, mostly grown but some still at home. We are close-knit and involved in each other's lives, by way of social events, encouragement; helping each other with tasks, etc. Great discussions and fellowship follow whatever the weekly meeting topic or video.

LIFE GROUP LEADER: Carolyn Marcuccio

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are a group of mature (over 30) single or single-in-the-church women who enjoy growing in the Lord together.  We incorporate a mixture of Biblically-based study and discussion, fellowship and relationship building, fun, food, and laughter.  Although we are all very different, we enjoy each other’s company and are committed to each other.

LOCATION: Meetings may occasionally rotate within Brockport, with members sharing the role of hostess. Contact the Life Group Leader for the most current meeting location.

SEMESTER OFFERING: The group is doing a book study and also discusses the Sunday sermons. There are also several Friday Fun Nights scheduled to accommodate those who cannot meet on Tuesdays.

LIFE GROUP LEADER(S): Christopher and Jenna Tatar

GROUP DESCRIPTION: We are a mixed group of twenty- and thirty-somethings that include young professionals, parents, and grad students.  The emphasis is on encouraging one another to walk with the Lord and with each other through the complexities of real life.  We love to laugh, and we love chocolate.

LOCATION:  Brockport

SEMESTER OFFERING: The ladies are working through “Living Beyond Your Feelings” by Joyce Meyer when the guys meet for IronMan. Otherwise the whole group is working together on “A Life Well Lived,” Tommy Nelson’s Bible study of the Book of Ecclesiastes. The last group gathering is a picnic.
